REDWAVE Sorting machine to detect Flexoprint

Gleisdorf, Austria – For the first time REDWAVE presented its new sorting machine for the detection and quantitative determination of flexographic printing at Ecomondo. Newspapers that are printed with the flexographic printing method may not reach the deinking process as they have a negative impact on product quality. This is a problem which particularly keeps the Italian and English paper industry busy, as part of the newspapers in these countries are produced with the flexographic printing process. Hence newspapers from these countries could not be used for the preparation of high quality papers. However, now it is possible to tap into this market potential by the REDWAVE-flexoprint-sorting-machine.

The REDWAVE paper sorting machines are efficient high-performance machines for the processing of recovered paper. The sorting material is pre-processed by ballistic separators, disc or star screens, separating and singulating the materials from other items, before entry to the sorting machine.

Redwave 3The material is scanned and if identified as a match to the set parameters, a signal is sent to the ejection units. High speed valves and air jets, operated by compressed air, eject the identified material. The number of valves activated per recognized object depends on the size of the particle to be separated.

The REDWAVE sorting machine is therefore able to quantitatively determine kaolin, cellulose, lignin, moisture and flexoprint. The system separates brown and gray cardboard, corrugated cardboard, folded boxes, coloured printed cardboard, synthetic papers and plastic-laminated papers. Materials such as plastics, liquid packaging boards, textiles, rubber and metals are rejected.
